Exceptionally rare and important Edo Period lacquered tea ceremony sweets box. A fossilized mushroom has been black lacquered on the outside and red negoro lacquered on the inside and used for the tea ceremony. The red lacquered has peeled a bit on the inside but not bad for c. 1865 Edo Period museum piece. Ask for shipping quote. H:15cm x W: 21cm.
