Beautiful Wabi-Sabi late Meiji Period c.1910 jizaikagi hearth pot holder. The bamboo pole hung over the irori fire pit in the old minka houses and held the iron cooking pot or iron tea pot over the coals. With the iron hook and chain the wood carved fish can be adjusted. Both the bamboo pole and the zelkova wood fish have years of patina smoked on. Wonderful Mingei folk art piece. L:182cm x width of fish :32cm . Ask for shipping quote.
