Wonderful Meiji Period c.1880 bronze, the vase has two hand-like decoration attachments off to the sides. On the vase itself are bamboo plants in relief against a lightning bolt diaper design. Bamboos were a symbol of flexibility and emptiness. The lightning bolt diaper is a well used Buddhist motif. Great condition. c.1880. (7" x 6") (18cm x 15cm).
