Late Taisho Period c.1920 bronze tea ceremony gong to call the participants to the tea ceremony. The gong has a dragon handle holding the bell suspended over a lotus leaf base with a bronze chain. Farther out on the dragon handle is a hole for another chain to hold a metal gong striker. We don't have the original metal striker but a iron striker is included. The sound is quite good. The gong itself has the goddess dakini in raised relief. The are some blue/green oxidization marks on the gong. Ask for shipping quote. H:35cm W:31cm
