Japanese cloisonne enamel vase with chrysanthemums. Late Meiji to Taisho era, circa 1890 to 1920. Unsigned, but in the manner of Hayashi Kihyoe. Fine inlaid wirework at neck and base, which are edged in brass. Exquisitely detailed petals and leaves with fine color gradations. Dark cobalt blue ground with white, rust, orange, yellow, and mauve blossoms; foliage in shades of green edged in rust. Excellent condition. 14.5" high x 10" wide at shoulder x 5" wide at base. Original fabric padded wood shipping crate, 17.25" high x 11" square.
