Pair of 16th Century Japanese Daimyo Ceremonial Fans (Gumpi) of carved wood, negaro vermillion lacquered, and raden work inlaid mother of pearl. These incredibly rare master works would embrace any important collections of the period. Very rare works of art from the Samurai world. We are amazed by the beauty and artistic presence of them. They were also used in Daimyo processions all through the Edo Period. 19 inches, 48 cm.
