Standing carved figure of Quanyin with right hand raised in abhayamudra with the thumb and middle finger touching, and the left hand holding a scroll, wearing a lotus necklace and long layered robes falling in graceful folds and tied with a long tassle-hung cord, the face carved with gentle expression and the hair drawn up into a high topknot secured with a ruyi-tipped hair pin. Figure, including shaped lotus platform: 15" H Overall dimensions, including scroll end plinth 27 1/2" H. Note: 2 finger tips missing. Dates from the early 19th century. The silk shade is vintage c.1940s of Oriental design.
