Striking antique art deco nickel over iron chandelier with original slip shades and a beautifully aged finish, dating from the 1930's. The fixture's canopy and body features unique geometric designs of stylized leaves and flowers, and a repeating V pattern. Below, the chandelier features a decorative teardrop loop finial, holding up the dome-shaped body. The dome is formed by five curved vertical bands of floral and foliate latticework that meets at a circular base with five projecting shade holders and shades. The original slipper shades are a beautiful amber with art deco flowers, leaves and geometric patterns. The underside of the body features a gorgeous radial pattern of the same floral and foliate design. This chandelier has a beautifully aged finish with some rust showing through the nickel, giving great character. The light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This fixture measures 17" wide, 19" tall (body only), and 33-1/4" long overall.
