Antique Australian Art Deco Slip Shade 5 Light Chandelier with Aborigine Design

Not often realized by collectors or dealers, but Markel and others had manufacturing plants in America, Canada, and Australia.

Bowing to local culture, a native design slip shade fixture was created that has some really fine native Australian motifs. We particularly like the bird track canopy, as well as the chevron devices on the ceiling bowl.

The old gold paint is original...and like anything 90 years original...it does have some wear that is quite obvious on the bottom of the bowl. We prefer NOT to touch an antique that has that lineage, but the new owner can make their choice about restoration, or not. Just a lovely, aboriginal motif chandelier destined for that market. It's uncommon here, today.

This chandelier has been completely rewired in our registered UL shop with new sockets. The sockets can easily handle 100 watt incandescent bulbs. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
