A beautiful rendering of a theater scene sculpted from a single piece of alabaster, this table lamp depicts a clown peering through curtains at an onstage dancer. When lit, the chandelier bulb cascades light over the curtain and dancer.
Reputed to be part of former mobster Waxey Gordon's estate.
1930s, Imperceptible repair on dancer's head where head was reattached to body, fill in dancers knee, natural irregularities in stone.
