Faience ( majolica ) lamp base, late Art Deco, France circa 1930''s. Beautiful cobalt blue gloss glazed ground with blue, turquoise, green and ochre drip glaze. Originally made as a lamp, not drilled. This lovely piece stis on its original bronze base with laurel leaf and beaded detailing. Craqelure of the glaze apparent on very close inspection. Needs to be wired. The neck cover is painted metal. Not marked. Overall dimensions: 12 inches high x 5.75 inches diameter.
