Vintage Art Deco porcelain figure of two dancing girls with original vase and frog base. Made by Hutschenreuther in Germany during the Art Deco period - 1920 - 30''s. Measurements: vase is 9 inches wide and 2 inches high. Figural group is 8 inches at highest parts. ROund vase in creamy porcelain. Scalloped and moulded patterns on the outside. A fitted frog in the center is round with holes for water/flowers and a flat plateau which is the base for the figural group. The figure depicts two girls at play / dance - one is pulling the other and both lean back for balance - one with outstretched arm. Both wear simple dresses, one with blue and one with red decoration. Typical Deco bob haircuts, beautifully modelled. Faces wonderful with pretty features. The figure is full of movement - girls dance on their toes, legs intertwined, balancing, dresses flying back. Base is round and modelled with daisy-like flowers. Both vase and figure are marked in green with the Hutschenreuther Selb over lion EHS mark with Germany and Kunstabteiling underneath. Very good condition with no chips/cracks/damage/restoration. There is a spot on the small finger of one girl where the glaze has gathered and darkened, but blue light indicates that this is original to the manufacture and not a restoration.
