A rare R Lalique 'Victoire' mascot by Rene Lalique, model introduced 18 April 1928, (Marcilhac 1147), "in clear glass with a very good amethyst tint, signature R Lalique on base, 25.6cm long. This model is also known as 'Spirit of the Wind'. For more information on this model, see Nicholas M. Dawes, Lalique Glass, Crown Publishers, Inc., 1986, p. 74, fig. 146. This particular model is considered to be one Lalique's best pieces of Art Deco design and is the largest, most famous and beautiful of Lalique's range of 30 mascots. There is on small surface scratch under the neck which could be buffed out. This piece was consigned to us from a long time collector of rare and historically important Automobile memorabilia.
