Lithograph by Albert Brenet of the Paquebot Claude Bernard & Lavoisier of the Compagnie Maritime des Chargeurs Reunis, bought in Paris. Litho is from 1950''s (not later than 1962). These ships were built in 1950, and sold in 1961 and 1962 respectively. Lavoisier became a cruise ship, sailed under different names and was scrapped in 1966 after a fire in the Caribbean. Claude Bernard was sold to East Germany and became a school ship. From a collection of maritime and nautical ephemera collected over a lifetime by a former Dutch diplomat.
