This striking poster by Leon Adolphe Willette (1857-1926) was produced for the Journee des Poilus (The day of the unshaven - which referred to the solidiers coming home from the WWI front). Willette and other French artists of the time were called France''s secret weapon - their skills and impeccable artistry were used to move the French public to support the war and subscription efforts. This poster is in excellent condition, and linen backed. It is faded to a lovely ecru tone - and measures 27.5 x 34.5. It is an original, non-reproduction piece and priced at $1400.
