According to the Fila website: Fila graphite pencils have been a national treasure and symbol of Italian school children since 1920. Constantly present in the lives of children for generations, the family of products made by Fila help kids explore their creativity and imagination... (translation mine)Now you know. As for my lovely and vintage carton: I do love old paper, and old Italian paper -well... this is a pristine ''carton'' (an advertising piece which would have been used for display in a store) for Fila pencils, featuring a typical and typically charming Italian bunch of school children, with one child on the top of a desk showing off his Fila pencils. While the tax stamp is faint is looks to me like it is dated 1924, which would put it just at the beginning of the illustrious career of the company itself. In any case, the piece is magnificent, not only for its depiction of the kids, but also for the details: the rosy cheeks of the children, the patched seat of their pants... I love it. The colors are vibrant and the piece is in very good condition. I think it would look lovely framed. Measuring 13.5 x 9.5 inches. Please note that all of our posters, prints, pochoirs and ephemera are vintage, non-reproduction pieces. Please e-mail any requests for additional information or photographs.
