The Hudson River Port-Folio contains twenty aquatints views of the Hudson River Valley engraved by John Hill after paintings by William G. Wall. This is one of the finest views of the Hudson River ever published. The Hudson River runs 315 miles from the Adirondack Mountains to New York City. The views start near Lake Luzerne and end with this scene which is a view of New York City from Governor's Island. The original proposal was for twenty-four (24) prints; however only twenty were ever published between 1821-1825. After much investigation--This and the other Hudson River Valley Print #10 Fort Edward that we have on our web site are not Originals BUT restrikes from about 40 years ago. Originals are worth about $6,000-$8,000.
