A fine watercolor, signed and dated William Trost Richards 1890. William Trost Richards (June 3, 1833 - April 17, 1905) was an American landscape artist associated with both the Hudson River School and the American Pre-Raphaelite movement. He is without doubt one of Americas finest artists. This piece measures 18 1/2"x 13" including the frame. The matte is new and the glass is Tru Vue. The frame has a chip upper left and lower right. The painting itself is overall quite nice, with a minor area of bleed? upper right but not really noticable. A typical Richards painting, vivid details on a rocky shore and pounding surf.
