This is a fine seascape by well known 19th Century artist William H Williamson (1820-1883). This painting of fishing boats entering the harbour was probably done at the height of hi career in the 1850/60's when his art work was exhibited at The Royal Academy. Williamson's work continues to be popular. At auction his work has exceeded for a small pair of oils £7000 at Sotherby's has and single paintings have past £2000 at Christie's in London. This is a rare chance to purchase a quality 19th century oil on board by a highly regarded artist. The painting measures 47 cm wide and is 32 cm high.
