Clarkson Frederick Stanfield (often named erroneously William Clarkson Stanfield) very scarce triptych with fabulous ornate brown wash border signed by the artist; in important museums around the world, very well listed artist ~ this the only triptych known to us (in 25 years of experience); hence very scarce indeed... one of the very best friends of author Charles Dickens, generally viewed as one of the greatest maritime painters of the British isles (amongst other John Ruskin; one of the main 19TH century authors on art, praised him for his fabulous skies) After the artist's death he was awarded a major retrospective of his work at the Royal Academy Winter Exhibition ~ please contact us for further images
