We are quite pleased to offer to you this Christian Molsted (Danish, lived and active, 1862-1930) oil on canvas, titled on back of strecther Marinemaler. The painting measures 24 1/2" x 17 1/2". We just had this professionally cleaned. A fantastic seascape by a listed Danish artist. There is some provenance on the back of the strecther, notably that this painting originally sold at a Danish? auction house in 1898. There are also more words in Dutch? that we don't understand. The bottom erroneously attributes the painting to a Charles Molsted, but this is in fact Christian as the top reads. The front is not signed. Very nice coloring in a roiling sea, 2 boats against an overcast sky. Feel free to ask for more pictures if needed.
