The picture shows in the centre the hull of a large battleship about to be launched. ;To either side are grandstands full of people and two tall poles with sailors hanging from them with their hats held high. ;There are many people on the ship waving and four enormous flags- the Red ensign, the Union Jack, the Royal Standard and the flag of the Lord High Admiral. ;In the water are many rowing boats waiting for the ship to slip into the water. ;A line of Royal Navy ships are at anchor along the coastline.
