This is a beautiful 19th Century Icon of Our Lady of Kazan. In "Our Lady of Kazan" icon the right hand of the Virgin is pointing to Christ as the true path for Rescue of fallen humanity. The hands of Mary are not depicted and kept hidden from the viewer. Only a small inclination of the head of the Virgin to Christ in a unique "gesture" on the icon. It symbolizes the unity and love of Mother and Divine Child, which Byzantine theologians interpreted as unity in the love of Christ and the Church of Our Lady.
