By the age of the wood on the stretcher and the back of the canvas, I figure this painting is from the mid-20th Century. 1950-Mid 60's. It measures 16" X 20" and depicts a Impressionistic View of a Nude Beach. In the lower right hand corner this painting is signed Rawdon. On the back of the stretcher is the word Goggin painted twice and there is a partial paper label from an exhibit. I also found written in pencil "#2". Although I could not find listed many artists named Rawdon, I am not able to identify the Rawdon that did this painting. At the bottom of the painting, right in the middle, is a 1 1/2" line crack in the paint, but the canvas is not separated. There are no other problems or repairs. The previous owner added a 20" X 24" Solid Oak Frame sometimes in the past few years.
