Extraordinary antique painting on porcelain plaque artist signed E. Schade (listed German painter on porcelains born in Munich in 1840). E. Schade is considered the finest painter of porcelain plaques from the 19th century. This is only the second plaque signed by this artist that I have owned or seen in 45 plus years collecting, buying , selling and appraising antiques, fine art and estate and antique jewelry. This subject is extremely desirable, it is a unique painting on porcelain unlike the ones signed and painted by Wagner who painted many of the same subjects over and over again. Wagner was a very well known and very talented painter of porcelain plaques who painted hundreds of them. Schade's works are all unique subjects. This plaque is one of the most beautiful and desirable plaques one might ever hope to find. The subject is a beautiful nude lady lying on a daybed outside on her balcony. The background has beautiful sky, mountains, trees, and clouds. She is so well painted she looks alive, you can hear her breathing. Behind her is a lovely cherub about to crown her with a wreath of flowers. This KPM plaque is signed in the lower right E. SCHADE. This extraordinary KPM artist signed painting on porcelain plaque is from my own collection and has never been offered for sale since I bought it quite some time ago. The plaque itself measures 11 inches wide, by 9 inches high. It is in extraordinary condition. The painting has a very warm glow. This is perhaps the finest KPM painting on porcelain plaque that has ever been offered for sale on the internet. It is set in a custom frame which is also in excellent condition. This magnificent plaque is guaranteed to please the most particular collector or connoisseur. (Item #72320)
