Hanna Nagel 1907 1975 large nude self-portrait, flanked by a drawing each from Hermann Gehri (important German artists) Very scarce, and very rare signed dated self-portrait, with to the back a stamp from the artist's studio, stating she needs the art returned, if not, there will be financial repercussions ~ 12.5 x 11.5 inches, scarce early work; which are indeed so hard to come by... brutally honest portrait, with the eyes so full of feeling, they jump right at you... thanks to Theobald Jennings Gallery (2010 catalogue) and Hasenclever gallery the deserved attention brought to this important artist (see there) fabulous, and very scarce piece; in line with George Grosz and Otto Dix the self-portrait is flanked by two sketches signed by Nagel's teacher Herman Gehri
