Vermont farm in Autumn landscape painting by Robert Shaw Wesson (American, 1902-1967), oil on canvas board, circa 1950s, signed lower right. Original artist's frame. Size: 16" x 20". Robert Shaw Wesson was born in Worcester, Mass. and studied under Jay Hall Connaway. He is best known for his winter landscapes of New England. This attractive painting must be of a Vermont farm in the fall, with a farmer driving a cart pulled by a pair of oxen. In the background, a large mountain towers above a traditional farm house, complete with red barns and silos. Excellent original condition.
