Beautiful oil painting under glass by British artist Marmaduke A. Langdale, d.1905. He was a member of the Royal Academy. Approximately 15 3/4" x 19 3/8" WITH the frame and matting. WITHOUT the frame it measures 7 1/8" x 11". Signed lower left "M. A. Langdale. 1884." On the back of this lovely painting is a cut out showing the original back side with information on the artist and this painting. The middle insert reads, Painted by M.A. Langdale. "TURNER," Gold Medalist, Royal Academy, 1865. Late Autumn; Pollard Beech Tree; Burnham Beeches. The information under that is a list of TURNER (Landscape) Gold Medallists and Scholars which lists Langdale in 1865, et al. Marmaduke A. Landgale was a British artist who died in 1905. He was known for his landscapes, rivers, still lifes and flowers. Davenport shows that his paintings have sold at Butterfield's. Being under glass, this painting is in very good condition.
