Beautiful landscape oil on canvas painting by listed American artist, Jerome J. Klapka. Signed lower right, J.J. Klapka. Approximately 19 1/2" x 15 3/4" WITHOUT the frame. WITH the frame it measures 26 1/4" x 22 1/2". The frame looks to be hand carved and in very good condition. Jerome J. Klapka was a painter and illustrator. Listed in Who was Who in American Art. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1888, he lived in Berwyn, Illinois. Studied: Art Institute of Chicago; W.F. Reynolds. Member: Chicago Gallery Assn.; Chicago Gld. Free Lance Artists. Exhibited: Art Institute of Chicago, 1933, 1935, 1937. Very good condition. Ready for hanging. It would look beautiful in an arts & crafts setting. Also with collections of Newcomb College and Rookwood Pottery.
