Roelofs Willem Dutch landscape oil painting on canvas c1859 depicting a woman walking along side a river nearher home. Born in Amsterdam 10 Maart 1822 died in Antwerpen mei 1897. He studied with H Van de Zande Bakhuyzen at the Hague Academy in Brussels 1847 to 1887. He came under the influence of the French painters of the Barbizon School, Dabigny and especially T H Tousaeau. Know for his water and meadow scenes. This oil on canvas is all original, without damage or repairs. Measures 16 and one quarter inches by 12 inches.
