A fascinating book has been published about Jon Schueler and his work titled "The Sound of Sleat", edited by Magda Salvesen and Diane Cusineau, published by Picador, New York. Schueler was taughtby Clyfford Still and Willem de Kooning, among others. Please see Who Was Who in American Art, page 2941, for an extensive biography of the artist. Schueler exhibited at major galleries, associated with the influential New York dealers and collectors of the day, and was an important part of the Abstract Expressionist movement that evolved in New York in the 1950s through the 1960s.
