Fannie Burr impressionist landscape oil painting c1878. Estate inventory number 113. Signed on back Burr 1878. The frame measures 23.25 x17.25 and the painting 18 x 12 inches. There is an old Connecticut Gallery label on the reverse a 940 inventory number. Fannie Burr (1858-1931) was born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Her father was a very successful farmer. She attended and graduated from Mt Holyoke College and the Yale School of Fine Arts, and studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. Listed in Who Was Who in American Art by Peter Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain CT.
