A wonderful English landscape oil on canvas painting, depicting an autumn river scene. The artist shows excellent use of color to portray a realistic aspect. The canvas is trimmed in a beautiful hand carved and gilded composition frame, and is signed in the lower left corner "B. Lambert." Lambert was born in the mid-19th Century and has many works of landscapes. This one is in spectacular antique condition and has only became better with age. Measuring 46W x 24H, including the frame. Circa late 19th Century. A fine piece to start or add to your collection.
