A late 19th or very early 20th c. etching by Jack Hewer. Hewer was well known in the late 1800's as an illustrator for many books. He also did etchings, and we are lucky enough to have a couple for sale. This piece titled Ponder Hall / Thrush Cross Grange (1st word possibly not thrush) and is numbered 32 of 75. Signed lower right. The piece is 10 1/4"x 8 1/2" and framed it is 18 1/2"x 14 1/2". The back has a label for Ruskin Art Gallery and also reads original signed artist proof etching. The scene a simple homestead with a woman feeding chickens and birds flying in the distance. Quite well executed and in good condition.
