Rare Victorian hand cut and hand coloured lithopane depicting a Roman toga clad woman smelling flowers in a garden setting.Comes in stained glass frame.Frame measures just under 7 3/4inches wide X 8 5/8inches high. Lithopane is 4 X 4 3/4inches.Strong Pre-Raphaelite influence on this lithopane in which a toga clad woman with long, flowing hair smells a flower. She stands amidst a garden of purple flowers, trees and grassy outcrop. Great detail. It is rare to find a coloured lithopane.Impressed PR in a ballon signature as well as impressed 1308.
