The stretcher size of the portraits is 29" x 36". The frame size is 33-3/4" x 40-3/4". They are from the mid 19th century and are of Mr. & Mrs. George J. Robertson. The frames are new, but the canvas is on the original stretchers. There is a patched tear in the husband's portrait about 3" long. It is a very old repair and is patched on the back side. It is about 6" from the right side midway up. Both portraits have arched shadows at the upper right and left corners from the original frames.
