This is an original, signed, dated and numbered lithograph by one of the leaders of Israel''s famous Bezalel school, Avigdor Stematsky (1908-1989). It depicts the artist''s wife, sitting quietly, hands clasped together. It is done in pencil and water colours. Very free strokes and dabs, allowing maximum light to ''shine'' through. There are a lot of brown shades, as if emphasizing the introspective, rooted look on the sitter''s face. The work is signed in pencil on the lower right, in Hebrew, with the artist''s name and date, 1929. On the lower left are the serial numbers of the lithograph: 168/250. This is a lithograph by Israel''s top lithographer who knew the artist well, done on very high quality paper. The measurements on site are:25 1/2'' h; 21'' wide. It comes in a beautiful quiet gold frame measuring:32 1/2 X 27''. Please contact me via directly. If you want to see another ''photo of this item, click on the blue writing ''another view''.
