Early Eretz Yisrael / Palestine signed original water color painting of children picking oranges in original frame by Erna Grossman Kneller. Measures 9 1/2 X 6 1/2inchs excluding the wooden frame.This painting was probably used later in school text books. It is immediately recognisable to everyone who was educated in Israel about 50 years ago. This is the original. A pair of young children are picking oranges. The boy climbs a ladder, followed by a large frog. The girl, a pair of pruning scissors in hand, picks a great big orange. Many more lie scattered around or in the overflowing basket near the ladder. The girl wears a scarf, pantaloons and suspenders holding up her stockings. Butterflies flutter behind her. The painting is signed Kneller, lower right.Very nice, old wooden frame.Both frame and painting are in good condition.
