Fun painting of a surrealistic girl with a fair in the background. Jean Calogero was an Italian artist who was born in Catania, Sicily on August 20, 1922 and died in November of 2001. He lived and worked in Italy as well as in France his entire life. He was awarded the Grand Silver Medal by the City of Paris in 1957 and this piece is very typical of the style of his work. Couple of minor flakes is all that seperates this from perfection. Calogero is currently a highly sought after artist on the rise in Europe. Several recent auctions show this strength.
