Very large pair of Orientalist art prints. As good as they get in the Orientalist style of the late 19th century, signed by the very well known and listed Italian artist, Luigi Crosio (1835- 1915). Crosio was a painter and lithographer who studied at the Accademia Albertina di Bella Arte Torino in the 1850's. These prints are a wonderful example of this Aesthetic Movement style for which he is well known. One is of a dancing girl in a court yard surrounded by colorfully dressed musicians who all appear to be women. The other is of a women reclining on a couch in a luxurious room. She is being fanned by a servant while another servant admits a visitor from behind an elaborate drape. Each print is done in rich jewel tones and set in it's fine, original gilt gesso frame. Each print also retains it's original glass and wood back. Signed L. Crosio in the lower right corner. The prints are in good condition, the only damage is a long and short crease on the print of the reclining woman. The frames are both in good condition with small, minor touch ups to the original gilding. The white streaks and blotches in the photos are reflections on the glass of our lights. 30 1/2 "high x 40 1/2" wide.
