Superb 17th century Dutch Master drawing-watercolour, from the "Golden Age" highly listed Dutch Master Jacob Toornvliet ( or Toorenvliet) ( 1635-1719).

Jacob Toornvliet is a very highly listed 17th century Dutch Master, listed in all major art references and sold all over the world in the major art salerooms and art galleries, for 10's of thousands US$ and even 100's of thousands US$.
This drawing-watercolour is fully signed lower in the middle right.
" J Toornvliet F" ( F for "fecit", done by )
The signature is of course 100% guaranteed Original to the painting.
The drawing is in a very good state, nicely framed.
One old damage, a +- 1" tear lower left, see jpg's, as can be expected from a +- 1680 dating drawing. this damage has no effect on the value of the painting.

Jacob Toornvliet, born in Leyden in 1635, was a pupil of his father Abraham. He travelled to Rome in 1670 and became a member of the "bent" (an association of Dutch painters studying and working in Rome). He spent a few years in Venice, married, and by 1678 was active in Vienna. In 1686 he was accepted into the Artists Guild of Leyden and became its head in 1703, a position he maintained until his death, sixteen years later.
Examples of his work are to be found in the Rijksmuseum, the Louvre, the Albertina and other important European museums.
