Peggy Bacon, American, 1895-1987, drypoint etching, "Aesthetic Pleasures", image size: 5 15/16 x 8 1/2 inches, 1936, published by AAA, edition of 174, cat. National Collection of Fine Arts-126, pencil signed, titled and dated. Known for satire and caricatures, she often focused her commentary on the New York art scene during the 1920's. Also a writer, Bacon wrote and illustrated several children's books as well as an award-winning mystery novel titled "The Inward Eye".
