Probably late 18th century
This charming study, titled "L'Escarpolette", or "The Swing", may date to the time of Jean-Honore Fragonard, who in 1767 was commissioned to create a painting of the same name. The work offered here, in watercolor, ink and pencil, bears pencil notations below the title that say,"XVIII Seicle (18th century)" and "Louis XV" (who ruled France until his execution in 1774).
