19th century French oil on canvas painting, c. 1870 This is a great oil on canvas from the French school which depicts a 17th century scene of a mother and child washing clothes along a lagoon shoreline. A thatched roof structure and turret frame the background of the painting. Fine detail and colors make this a desirable addition for an informal den or family room. The frame is attractive with a canvas liner but is not original to the painting. Dimensions are: 40w x 54
