England
1899
According to an expert in 19th century paintings and drawings at Bonhams, this beautifully-detailed pen and ink drawing was executed by F. O. Gallagher, who was known to have contributed to The Dome (an illustrated magazine and review of literature, music, architecture and the graphic arts, published in London 1897-1900) and The Studio (a late 19th century Arts & Crafts magazine). This was probably the original artwork for a book or magazine illustration. Signed lower right. The measurements given below are for the framed piece; the image size is 11 3/4" x 5 3/4".
