A superb watercolor portrait of Louis XIV on ivory, circa 1849. Framed under glass in a mahagony and rosewood frame that measures 11"x 10 1/2". The portrait measures approx. 3 1/2"x 3". There is an old label on the back which dates the piece to 1849. There is also a date on the wood that to me looks like 1744. A beautiful piece, great patina on the frame, minor rolling of the portrait. No signatures visible
