The beautiful sitter is a girl of about 15 years wearing a black coat, a plumed hat, and gloves. She holds a fan. Fannie C. Burr born 1858, died 1931 in Monroe, CT. Exhibition at the New Britain (CT) Museum of American Art in 1990 by the Connecticut Gallery. The artist attended Mt Holyoke College, Yale School of Fine Arts, and the Art Students League. That was an unusual amount of education for a young woman at that time. Fannie Burr is Listed in Who Was Who in American Art. Frame measures 42 and one half inches by 31 inches. Canvas measures 25 inches by 35 inches.
