Large old ethnic carving, suitable for wall hanging. Sepik River, Papua New Guinea. Bird or possibly bat with out-stretched wings over figure of a man-woman. Sides are pair of birds morphing into crocodiles with small cowrie shell eyes. Bottom is carving of a bat's head. All nicely detailed with shell eyes on some figures. Grass hair tassels on sides.
Total measurement of 110cm high by 33 cm wide. Very good original condition. Interesting, powerful carving.
