558.Hand colored engraving,"A VIEW OF THE TAKING OF QUEBEC".LAURIE & WHITTLE NOV.1797.This battle took place on the Plains of Abraham Quebec,in 1760 by the French and English. The battle lasted less than an hour with the English being the victors.Both Wolfe and Montcalm where killed.This engraving was from a drawing by a soldier of Wolfe's army depicting the easy climbing by Wolfe's soldiers.13in by 18 1/2in(32cm by 46cm).
