A wonderful museum quality engraving from the 1600's. Peter Paul Troschel (German, 1620-1667) was the son of well known and listed artist Hans Troschel. Peter has had a few engravings come to auction with pleasant results. This piece depicts a horse rider and trainer (a similar piece came to auction a few years ago, only the trainer was on the right). The engraving measures 8"x 11 3/4" while the frame (old frame, under glass) measures about 26"x 20". A handsome ensemble together, would look great in an office or den. The engraving is in overall good condition, while the frame has some loss. The matte is a pinkish cream color.
